I. Kayaking tips:

Proper Sitting Posture  and Balance: while paddling, the paddler should sit on the bottom of the boat with his/her body against the hull to keep the body stable. Keep your knees slightly bent, your feet on the bottom board of the boat, and your back slightly tilted forward to keep your body balanced.

Correct Paddling  Posture: Paddling is one of the most important manoeuvres in kayaking. The paddler should straighten his arms and then insert the paddle blade into the water while shifting his body weight to his arms. During paddling, the paddler should pay attention to keep the balance and stability of the body to avoid wasting energy due to over exertion or incorrect posture.

Turning manoeuvre : The turning manoeuvre changes the direction and speed of the boat. During a turn, the rower should insert the oar blade into the water and then shift the body weight to one arm while turning the body to the same side. During the process of turning, rowers should pay attention to keep the balance and stability of the body.

Second, facing different weather conditions:

When facing different weather conditions, the driving skills of kayaking are different. On calm water, one should try to maintain the stability of the kayak. On windy water, you should learn to correctly adjust your sitting position and paddling strength to cope with the wind and waves. In the event of a strong storm, you should dock or seek shelter as soon as possible.

In addition, there are some advanced techniques, such as wheel rolls, cartwheels, backflips, phoenix monkeys and moon tracks, which need to be learnt and practised under the guidance of a professional instructor.

Overall, correct technique and posture can help rowers improve rowing speed and stability, as well as reduce energy consumption. In practice, it is recommended to adjust and optimise them according to personal circumstances and actual needs.
